The development intervention is aimed at extending the concept of home social care in Moldova through strengthening the role and quality of care services in the home and community environments. It focuses mainly on the education of personnel, specialized in the field, and on improving the availability and quality of the home social care in areas, in which such care has been available the least. The aim of the project is to provide professional training for medical personnel, social workers and volunteers with the purpose of professionalization of these groups, in order for them to become fully competent in the area of providing the services of home care and its management. Realized activities are aimed at increasing the awareness about the home care model on the local level, and support for access of disadvantaged people to basic health and social services. The Home Care Association is a local partner of the project; it is recognized as one of the few non-governmental organizations, providing qualified health and social services. The cooperation with the Home Care Association was already established during the previous project, aimed at the development of home care services, financed by Ministry of Industry and Social Affairs of Czech Republic, in the frame of which the centers in the towns of Cahul and Dorocke were built. The center of home care provided services for its clients in 2012, and the activities, aimed at institutionalizing the concept of home care under the system of social services, financed from the state budget of Moldova, were started.
