Project is aimed at the support of city Sarajevo and its four districts (Stari Grad, Centar, Novi Grad, Novo Sarajevo) in the field of drawing EU subsidies from pre-accession IPA funds and other national and international funds. Currently, there is a lack of trained staff that would be able to prepare project applications and bring like that needed sources for development. All of the districts already chosen staff for this purpose and some districts established specialized departments (development departments) which will focus on fund drawing.
Support from the Czech Republic is mainly aimed at linking theoretical knowledge and information gained through the schooling system with practical knowledge and concrete project themes. Part of the project is also the transfer of Czech experience from its pre‑accession period. Training modules consist of both, theoretical and practical parts. In cooperation with experts from the Czech Republic detail project plans will be prepared for each district. In following phase, the implementing partner will analyze the project documentation and make advises for improvement so also the quality of projects would increase. Throughout the process of linking theoretical and practical knowledge, together with expert supervision, the staff will gain valuable knowledge and experience for further use.
