The field of civil engineering has great potential to contribute to the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in particular to the quality of housing and to raising the overall standard of living. However, there is a large lack of experts in this area in the country. The project is therefore aimed at reducing the shortage of construction engineering specialists through the creation of a specialisation at Burch International University in Sarajevo. Thanks to the establishment of the field, it will be possible to achieve the necessary education of people who will not only renovate, reconstruct and redevelop, but also build new energy-saving buildings contributing to the sustainable development of the country. The project will also contribute to higher employment in the country. Another potential of cooperation with the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Brno University of Technology lies in the education of local people based on European standards. They will be able to contribute to higher environmental standards which are one of the conditions for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s entry to the EU.
