The aim of the project is improvement of quality of life of elderly and disabled people through ensuring availability and accessibility of professional social and primary health care service in the entire Moldova. The project focuses on trainings of social workers in the field of home care services and strengthening availability and quality of the services in the areas, where home care services are still missing.

In order to achieve its objective, the project will organize professional trainings for social workers, social assistants, managers of Social Assistance Departments, NGO representatives, volunteers as well as for patients’ family members.

Training module, elaborated within the project, will provide knowledge for all categories of people working in the home care services and will become an official handbook for continuous capacities development. One new daily centre will be launched, providing home care services for 650 beneficiaries of the Horesti, Unteni, Taxobeni, Hrubna Noua, Vranesti and Lucaceni villages. The daily centre Estera in Chisinau will continue provision of home care services for 800 beneficiaries during the project period. Also requalification trainings for 100 medical workers will be organized in the Estera centre.

An intensive dialogue between NGOs providing home care services and representatives of relevant miniseries will be maintained within the project. These organizations (NGOs) will promote the development of the legal framework focused on the social part of home care services. At the same time a catalogue of home care services will be elaborated, containing all important information for the organizations interested in the accreditation and registration and also for potential beneficiaries of the services. The catalogue will have three parts: legal framework related to the home care field; templates and forms used in the home care services; list of home care service providers.
