Project was aimed at strengthening of capacity of Institute for Standardization of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the areas of deployment, translation, creation and preparation of national annexes to the law and principles for structural design Eurocodes. Eurocodes are European normative documents for the design of buildings and civil engineering in terms of stability and mechanical and fire resistance with regards to different materials and structures etc.

Bosnia and Herzegovina will with introduction of Eurocodes get among European states with unified procedures of designing building structures and thereby will to some extent solve current unsatisfactory situation in the region after the breakup of the former Yugoslavia. Currently there are no national regulations and comprehensive system of national normative documents. Implementation of Eurocodes will increase reliability of building constructions according to the valid law.
