The subject of the assignment was the preparation of a comprehensive sector study in the energy sector in Moldova. The outline of the study included a description of the current state of the energy sector, Expected development and energy concept of the country; a Map of the needs (energy resources, efficiency, regulatory framework, RES) of the country in the energy sector and coverage of these needs by activities of other donors/investors/organizations; Potential for Czech solutions in the country based on point 3. concerning financing within the framework of the Czech Republic's DCI or development finance instruments; Proposals and recommendations for development and commercial orientation of the Czech Republic in the energy sector in the country (including financing), SWOT analysis for the proposal (by energy source).

Based on a comparison of the outputs of the analyses with technological and other solutions currently offered in the Czech Republic, it was recommended to provide support in the following areas of the Moldovan energy sector:

- Renewable energy sources,
- Digitalization of the energy sector,
- Further development of energy legislation,
- Energy awareness and changing consumption patterns;

While in the area of tangible technological solutions, these are mainly:

- Complete supply, construction, and service of wind power plants,
- Solar collectors and controls for solar systems, control systems (water heating and heating),
- PV technology as part of complete solutions, 
- Biogas plants - complex supply,
- High-efficiency furnaces and boilers,
- Small hydropower plants,
- Cogeneration units,
- Electric vehicle charging infrastructure (charging stations),
- Battery systems, including software support;

In intangibles, o:

- Smart Grids, SW,
- Consulting, know-how sharing.


Implementation of selected projects, in line with the Bilateral Development Cooperation Programme 2024-2030 for Moldova, can be expected in the following years.
