The development objective of the project is to improve the environment and health situation of the population in Moldova through the reduction of negative impacts of old environmental burdens - remnants of obsolete pesticides deposited in the central district warehouses. The main goals of the project are repackaging of obsolete pesticides gathered in the various central district warehouses, their final disposal and verification of the extent and risks of residual pesticides contamination. Main Outcomes will be final disposal of 200 tons of obsolete pesticides and related documentation (verification of undertaken work), cleaning up of warehouses and verification of residual contamination on sites and assessment of residual risks. Pesticides will be removed (up to 200 tons) according to the sequence of following sites: Gradiniţa, Clocuşna, Ciobalaccia, Singerei, Onişcani, Paşcani, Gaidar. The project will be finished in 2013 with the recording of the state and with handing the localities to local partners.
