Due to their limited experience and to high financial costs, the Moldovan authorities do not currently have sufficient capacity to combat illegal production and trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. The aim of this project is therefore to support the work of the General Inspectorate of the Moldovan Police in the fight against drug crime, especially with regard to so-called new psychoactive substances and drug trafficking through the hidden Internet environment. In 2017, Czech experts went on an expert trip to Moldova, where they learned about the current situation in this area and identified the needs of Moldovan partners. They also acquired the technical equipment that will serve for practical training. Other expert trips that took place in 2018, were dedicated to the following topics: “New Synthetic Drugs and Legislation”, “The Issues of Virtual Currencies”, and last but not least “Darknet”. The project will be completed during the rest of the year 2018.
