The project focuses on improving the livelihood in Kampong Speu – a Cambodian province highly affected by natural disasters, climate change and poverty. The inhabitants of Kampong Speu have limited access to education, low agricultural skills and income, live in very remote areas, and lack market linkages. In order to address these issues, the project will contribute to the equitable development of Cambodia by building capacities in entrepreneurship, financial management, sales and marketing skills, growing more resistant crops and using resilient technology. Besides technical support, the project also provides start-up materials, development of marketing materials, support of the community infrastructure and irrigation systems, and green energy support. The project aims to improve the socioeconomic status of Cambodian families engaged in the programme, focusing especially on women and handicapped persons, and increasing the resilience of the communities towards climate change and catastrophes.
