The aim of the project is to contribute to the development of sustainable management and access to geological data and knowledge for two geological services in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in line with the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The project’s goal is to support public institutions in improving the geological information system, enhance the expertise of local professionals and government officials, and improve data management, access, presentation, and dissemination of information.
The proposal, prepared by the Czech Geological Survey (ČGS), is based on information gathered from communication with the two Bosnian geological services and the knowledge and experience of the Czech Geological Survey. Based on an inventory, technical infrastructure, and related procedures will be designed, including a strategy for managing archives, data, and metadata. Necessary technologies will be provided, and the implementation of the proposed system will be supported. Local staff will be trained in specific technologies. The results, aimed at improving the capacity of Bosnian stakeholders to utilize geological data, will be presented. Expert workshops led by ČGS professionals will be organized to transfer acquired know-how in addressing geological issues.
