The project "Improving the quality and availability of medical nutrition care for children under 5 years of Takeo in Cambodia" is focused on improvement of quality and access of healthcare and nutrition related to a pediatric client in Dan Keo district, Takeo province, Cambodia. Magna, in partnership with Provincial health department of Takeo, has identified and gained for cooperation district provincial hospital and 15 medical centers. In these facilities Magna is going to concentrate on strengthening their operational capacity, meaning renovation and completion of material equipment of their ambulance and hospital premises for pediatric care.
With the aim of improving the healthcare quality, the project will be further focused on strengthening expert qualification of medical staff and of voluntary community workers by education and training activities. To secure effectiveness and to improve results of actual (often absenting) care of the pediatric client, Magna will set a reference system for trained employees – so called client recommending system – among the community, medical center and provincial hospital, which will be based on a voluntary community work according to CMAM system (Community-based Management of Acute Malnutrition).
