The main objective of the project is to support the implementation of a single European procedure for building structure designs in Moldova. Achievement of the objective is supported by strengthening the professional capacity and by technical assistance in the preparation, creation, and introduction of national annexes to selected single European normative documents for designing of buildings and civil engineering works in terms of their mechanical resistance, stability, and fire resistance – the so-called Eurocodes. The project also includes the equipping of expert laboratories. The use of European and international standards brings Moldova closer to the legislation of the European Union, which makes it easier for foreign investors to enter the Moldovan market and for Moldovan businesses to enter EU markets. National annexes to selected Eurocodes are prepared in the context of the project. In addition, the system ensuring access to standards and normative documents for experts is made more effective by the implementation of an online distribution tool. The funds available to the implementer from 2018 were used in 2019.
