The focus of this project is to help establish a vine and wine register aligned with the acquis communautaire that will enable the traceability of wine production within Moldova and help open EU markets for winemakers. Besides the removal of export barriers and the establishment of rules and conditions at the level of local markets, the project will also strengthen the position of consumers at the market. Additionally, harmonizing legislation and achieving stable legal environment in this field will promote inflow of foreign investments.

Activities include practical training held at the beneficiary’s institutions and also several study visits to the Czech Republic. Through these and other workshops and seminars, key experts will transfer their knowledge, experience and best practices to the project beneficiaries. Newly trained local experts will then disseminate acquired knowledge to their colleagues.

The Czech Republic has successfully implemented EU legislation and adapted its previously functioning system of vine and wine register to the desired format at minimal cost and without adverse effects. While taking local context, and any possible differences, into account, our experts will readily offer their experience to help their colleagues from the Republic of Moldova adopt a similar system conforming to the EU standards.
