Project aims to improve resilience of Coastal communities in Koh Kong Province to the impacts of disasters and climate change through improved household livelihoods, increased life-skills of children and adults, and improved land use planning.
Project consists of 3 main pillars (key approaches): 1. Livelihoods - alternative livelihood options, which will lead to higher resistance to climate change and disasters; 2. Education and Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR)/Climate Change Adaption awareness raising - in cooperation with schools, teachers, School Support Committees and students; 3. DRR/CCA planning - project will support Commune Councils to carry out their mandates for DRR/CCA community development planning and land-use planning processes through implementation of commune level hazard vulnerability and capacity assessment (HVCA) and disaster hazard mapping.
