The objective of the project is to contribute to a conceptual improvement of land-use policy and planning in Moldova, development of sustainable urbanization, and increase of the capacity for modern planning and management of towns and municipalities. Relevant actors at the central government level undergo training in the preparation of concept documents for land-use planning at the national level. Then the local and regional public administrations are trained in specific topics of land-use planning which reflect the demands of decentralized, properly functioning and transparent public administration providing quality services to citizens. Support for involving the public in the land-use planning process is an important part of the project. In the context of the project, land-use plans are prepared for six target locations. The project is implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment, public administration institutions in individual target areas, and other relevant actors of the land-use planning process.
