The goal of the project implemented by ADRA Czech Republic and ADRA Cambodia is to improve the quality of nutrition of mothers in reproductive age and of children under 2 years old through implementation of activities focused on improving diet/feeding practices of mother or caregivers. 4,500 families with children under 2 are the direct target group of the project. However citizens of 44 villages, counting around 56,900 inhabitants and 11,000 households will also benefit indirectly. This project contributes to dealing with the problem of an overall unsatisfying quality of nutrition in the country as well as with the problem of a high level of malnutrition of children under 2. It also contributes to solving the problems connected with unsufficient access to fresh water and sanitation, especially health problems of children and adults. Activities planned for this project include training and community meetings focused on improving the quality of nutrition, educational activities on water and sanitation and construciton of sanitary facilities. Local communities will be actively participating on the implementation process of the project activities through training for trainers sessions, educational sessions and facilitation meetings which would support the long term and sustainable impact of the project on the benefiting communities.
