The project aims to ensure the sustainable sources of livelihood for the rural population in the woreda of Kedida Gamela in Ethiopia. Since 2011, there has continuously been less rainfall, which affects crop yields and overall agricultural production. Given that the majority of the population depends solely on one source of income, agriculture, crop failure poses a major risk for the population. This is a long-term programme with the aim of continuous cooperation with communities leading to their gradual independence and autonomy in securing their own food self-sufficiency. The project consists of three specific objectives: 1) the increase of agricultural production and the productivity of poor farmers in the target Kebele; 2) the ensuring of sustainable access to water and other natural resources for the target groups; 3) the diversification and increase of the income of poor farmers and target groups.
