The main goal of project proposal “Support of Rural Service Centers in Didachara and Dioknisi, Autonomous republic of Adjara, Georgia” was to improve sustainability of 2 target farmer associations/agricultural service centers which were established within previous project implemented in 2011-2012 and funded by Czech Development Agency. The submitter bases the project on the concept of cooperative farming, design of project activities was based on need assessment and experience from implementation of previous projects. Main results of the project are improved access of farmers to markets; Improved milk production in communities due to improved access to better livestock feeding techniques and methodology; Improved quality and yield (productivity) of potatoes due to improved irrigation; and informing farmers about the government policy and regulatory changes in agriculture sphere. The project was based on, among other elements, active participations of target groups and beneficiaries in project activities, including financial participation. Greatest emphasis was put on project sustainability and capacity building of 2 service centers in order to ensure independence after the end of the project. In 2013, an analysis of the market in Batumi and the possibility of diversification of farmer associations' management of terraced orchards with an indispensable ecological effect were done. Reconstruction of warehouse space for saving seed and ware potatoes of service center members was completed. Equipment for warehousenecessary for its successful operation, was also purchased.
