Due to its focus on the work of multiple and incomplete families, the children and youth in the remote communities and in difficult life situations, the project responds to the current needs of selected regions of the western Georgia. It follows on and completes the ongoing government reform of the childcare system, the integration of children into the society, and the priorities of Imereti region council and the city of Kutaisi, which aim in their programs at the support for the poorest families, living in the remote communities. The city of Kutaisi and district of Tskaltubo and Tkibuli were chosen for the implementation of the project. Main outputs of the project will be the increased capacities of local authorities, which provide the social services to vulnerable groups, and realize the programs, which are aimed at economic development of this region; furthermore, it will focus on increasing of awareness about the problems of vulnerable groups among the general public, and their involvement in solving these problems. Finally, the project will offer the direct support to selected vulnerable groups through requalification courses and newly established social entities. Project was started in June, 2012 – the opening activities took place, i.e. the preparation of the media campaign and trainings.
