The project "Strengthening Ukraine's capacity in forest monitoring to align with EU standards" aims to support Ukraine in ensuring sustainable and effective forest management in line with European environmental standards. Ukraine faces challenges in the area of forest monitoring, which limits its ability to properly manage its forest resources and meet its environmental and climate change commitments to the EU. 

The project aims to strengthen Ukraine's capacity in forest monitoring and support the implementation of European forest management standards. The project focuses on the development of technical and administrative capacities to collect, analyse and use data on forest ecosystems and their changes. Key outputs include training of forest monitoring experts, development and implementation of monitoring methodologies in line with EU standards and strengthening of forest data management tools. The project is implemented by the Czech Development Agency in cooperation with experts from Mendel University in Brno and Ukrainian partners, including the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine.
