The project seeks to increase the educational opportunities for poor and marginalised children, youths, women and their families, which will contribute to a thriving and peaceful society in Ethiopia by the end of 2018. In the framework of other activities, the needs of disabled children will also be met. Their equal access to education will be supported by both a material and medical method. The inclusive education issue will be promoted through an awareness campaign. The project also comprises the equipping of high schools and vocational schools with several computers and other supplemental educational materials. The majority of schools in this region have no computers and their purchase will contribute to improving the computer skills of students and their teachers. There are three specific objectives of this project: 1) to improve access to education and health care for children with special needs in target districts; 2) to strengthen the capacity of families and communities to promote quality services and inclusive education; 3) to improve the quality of teaching and the learning environment in schools / training centres.
