The project aims to improve the quality of education at the Institute of Technology of Hawassa University and focuses specifically on the development of technical fields, such as application of alternative energy sources and processing of agricultural products. Before the launch of the project, teachers of technical courses were struggling with outdated teaching methods and knowledge that was insufficient for modern practice. The aim of the project is to increase the level of expertise and the quality of teaching at the Institute of Technology of Hawassa University through the involvement of teachers and management of Czech universities.
The core of the project includes direct participation of Czech teachers at the university and their provision of tutoring and educational materials produced for the purposes of respective courses. Further activities of the project include the training of teachers with an aim of improving their skills and their expertise. The project also aims at facilitating research efforts of both participating universities through conducting joint research projects, and at support distinguished students in their own researches through the provision of grants.
