Project follows on the previous intervention in the frame of the special humanitarian and reconstructive assistance of the Czech Republic after the war of 2008. The project will help to improve the living conditions of the residents in the remote Tusheti region, which is isolated from lowland areas by the main Caucasus ridge on the south and by Russian Autonomous Republics of Dagestan and Chechnya on the north. The purpose of the project is to introduce the sustainable technologies for electricity generation (solar panels for the generation of electricity and water heating) for the benefit of the local residents in the protected area. The project was prepared in cooperation with the Agency of Protected Areas, established by the Ministry of Environment of Georgia, and municipal administration of Akhmeta district. Project is complementary to the USAID projects, and functionally connected to the project of the European Commission. The project was finished due to the precipitation; all the installations were handed to the recipients.
