The overall objective is to strengthen region-based (civil society organisations) CSOs along the DCFTA implementation process and along the implementation of the SME policy for Georgia. The specific objective of the project enhancing regional CSOs is to strengthen capacity of region-based CSOs, to serve as effective vectors of democratic and socio-economic development in rural areas. The project targets municipalities of Imereti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Kakheti, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Adjara and Kvemo-Kartli, with a strong focus on rural communities. The main target group consists of 16 region-based CSOs with mandate and experience working with rural micro and small entrepreneurs as well as eight Local Action Groups (LAGs) in Kazbegi, Lagodekhi, Borjomi, Dedoplitskaro, Tetritskaro, Akhalkalaki, Keda and Khulo municipalities. The project beneficiaries are medium, small and micro businesses, individual entrepreneurs, farmers and agri-producers in the regions, as well as local CSOs and agrarian associations.
