Take-off of the thermal energy in Ulaanbaatar increased by 30% since 2007. The heating system of Ulaanbaatar is constantly facing shortages due to poor sealing of pipes, which is caused by corrosion. This results in extra costs for maintenance. The project aims to improve water quality by installing a reliable instrumentation for chemical water treatment and to stabilize the output of the power plant and thus ensure a sufficient amount of water coming to the central heating system for Ulaanbaatar region. The project will also increase the proportion of the automatic functioning of power plants, which will result in elimination of manual handling deficiencies.
