The aim of the project, realized with the purpose of socio-economic development of the Imereti region, is to assist in increasing the effectiveness of caves’ management, including the care of cave systems. The specific purpose of the project is the improvement of the administration and operation of the caves through the creation of the methodological document for organization and management. Due to the fact that employees of the protected area don’t have the sufficient knowledge and experience in maintenance of the newly established modern structures or in protection of the cave structures, one of the priorities is to build and improve their professional knowledge. The effective management of the protected area is aimed at the protection and presentation of the rarities, together with the development of ecotourism, gentle to the environment, should become the mean of development of local small and medium entities, offering the services for the potential visitors. Implementation of the project have been taking place since 2012, the first trip of Czech experts took place at the end of 2012.
