To support the Ethiopian government improving conditions for inhabitants and organizations and reduce poverty by own forces are the main development goals of the project. This goal shall be reached by advancing the knowledge in fields of engineering geology, evaluation of geological hazards, applied tectonics and geophysics. Such knowledge will contribute also in protection of environment and sustainable exploitation of natural resources of Ethiopia. The project has an aim to improve efficiency of education at the Arba Minch University (AMU), requested by government. This aim will be supported by creation of research centre and also electronic versions of textbooks and presentations for the lectured expertises. Project will contribute in reduction of poverty, increase of landscape and wildlife protection and efficient and sustainable exploitation of natural resources as well as development of education.
