The war in Ukraine has brought not only human and material losses but also environmental risks that are difficult to monitor due to the lack of accurate data. The project "Identification and prioritization of environmental burdens in Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukraine" focuses on the identification and analysis of ecological threats in the region. The aim is to conduct a search of available databases and a field survey to confirm and prioritize sites with the greatest environmental risks. The project will map at least 40 significant pollution sources and screen for ecological components at 10 sites. Project outputs will provide key information for post-war recovery and community protection. Arnika is implementing the project with DEKONTA and local partners, including the Department of Ecology of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Council and the Environmental Monitoring Centre.
