The project responded to the urgent humanitarian crisis in the Ethiopian region Somali, caused by draught and subsequent lack of food. The target group was composed of Somali refugees, internally displaced persons and host communities. The project secured a complex aid for at least 3 500 worst affected individuals for following three critical months (from half of August until November 2011) until autumn rains. The main activities included providing people with supplies of food, water, nutrient diet, basic health care and material aid with the goal of reducing mortality and morbidity and improving the living conditions of the affected population.
