This project aims to improve the quality of maternal and child health care services provided by hospital Karat so that the hospital can fulfill national standards and reach the level of primary hospital. The project is focused on development of health services at the hospital, its technical support, including provision of medical and technical equipment, and training of its medical staff. Beneficiaries of the project will be the population in Konso Special Woreda Region Southern Nations, Nationalities and People who’s the standard of living will be improved.

The project was started in the second half of 2013 and since then in order to increase efficiency and impact of employed resources cooperation and experience sharing was negotiated between the hospital in Karat and hospital in Leku.
