The OECD has published the comparative study of evaluation practices in development cooperation in the member countries of the OECD's Development Assistance Committee. This study follows up on the analysis from 2010 and describes the evaluation practices in the member countries with the objective to increase the efficiency and quality of the evaluation systems and processes. The review brings measurable results and findings about the efficiency and impact of the development policies and the development programmes. While the large public considers the development evaluations an important control mechanism of the transparency of the effective use of funds, the institutions use them as a valuable source of information to enhance their practice of development cooperation.

The Czech Republic is a member of the working group DAC Network on Development Evaluation and it enjoyed a positive mention of its evaluation practice mainly in relation to independence. The process of selection, implementation and reporting are independent of each other and the quality and impartiality are ensured with the work of the Council for Development Cooperation and independent experts.
