Support for coordination and capacity building of the FoRS platform - Czech Forum for Development Cooperation in 2020
The project focuses on coordinating the activities of the FoRS platform and supporting the capacities of its membership base in the area of sustainability and impact of NGO activities in foreign development cooperation (FDC), promoting the effectiveness of the FDC and strengthening the Czech Republic's contribution to sustainable development. It is built on three basic premises, which are necessary for effective development cooperation, moving towards the SDGs or strengthening policy coherence for sustainable development, and are related to the role of NGOs as independent actors and their full participation in sustainable development efforts:
1. NGOs have the capacity, expertise and legitimacy to effectively implement the SDGs and respond to new development challenges.
2. Key sustainable development actors, including the SDGs, have the capacity to support the development of sustainable development. FoRS, its members and civil society in general, are able to collaborate with each other and other stakeholders and build effective partnerships within their sector and across other sectors at national and international levels.
3. there is a sufficiently enabling environment that recognizes NGOs as independent development actors and supports the different roles they play or can play in pursuing their priorities (both in the WRR and in the SDGs agenda with the overarching principle of Leave No One Behind, aimed at supporting the most vulnerable and excluded populations in the world).
