The #iamlikeyou project responds to the identified low awareness and interest of the Czech public in global context and development. To illustrate, according to an Ipsos survey (2018), one in ten Czechs is aware of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).[1] For this reason, the planned online campaign is aimed at strengthening the Czech public's awareness of the SDGs through the Czech Republic's international development cooperation.
In order to achieve the project objectives, the tool of the online campaign #iamlikeyou was chosen, which will take place on the social networks Instagram and Facebook of CARE ČR, and especially a group of selected Czech "influencers", the main multiplier of the whole campaign. The project has following objectives: 1. To increase the awareness and engagement of the Czech public in gender equality issues in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals - the SDGs in the framework of the Czech Republic's foreign development cooperation; 2. Mobilize a group of Czech "influencers" on social networks on gender equality in the implementation of the SDGs in the framework of the Czech Republic's foreign development cooperation.
In order to meet these objectives, the campaign will be carried out both in online media through the publication of articles depicting the lives of women from developing countries, and short authentic videos depicting the daily lives of these women, a key marketing tool of the project, will be prepared and edited. Intensive cooperation with a group of "influencers" will enable the videos and their messages to reach the general Czech public using social networks.
The project is implemented by CARE Czech Republic, inspired by the transfer of experience from the partner organization CARE France, which successfully implemented a similar online campaign in previous years in France. The project will also indirectly involve CARE International's partner offices in selected countries of the Czech Republic, which will assist with the preparation of additional short and authentic videos on site.
