The project aims to increase agricultural productivity and incomes of 125 medium farmers and 22 cooperatives in Mongu, Limulunga, Kaoma and Nkevema districts in Western Province and Mumbwa district in Central Province in Zambia by building capacities, developing added value chains and establishing access to markets. These activities focus on support of productive and profitable businesses in the field of agriculture. Selected cooperatives and farmers will receive technical capacities in the field of small mechanization, food-processing technologies and diversification based on an identificatory value chain and market analysis. Managerial, financial and business capacities of recipients will also be strengthened and increased. Information concerning market prices, possible customers or forecasting will be made available through mobile apps. At least 50 medium-scale farmers and 12 cooperatives will receive a grant for the best business plan which goal will be diversification and development of value chain. The project is build on partnership and cooperation where relevant ministerial departments in Zambia play an instrumental role in shared capacity building and information sharing.
