The main goal of the project is to increase availability of services used in the artificial insemination of cattle breeding and promote regeneration of the gene pool of local breeds. In cooperation with local partner, Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock , an Insemination Centre will be established, a laboratory equipped for processing of semen samples, genetic bank set up with genetic material of local breeds and personnel of both the Centre and laboratory trained.

The project implementation started in September 2011. By the end of the year equipment for collecting and freezing semen was delivered and commissioned, equipment for medical analysis delivered, procedures for production of semen doses developed and operational regulations of the Insemination Center and the laboratory created. In 2012 local employees were trained for collection of semen and the implementer worked closely with local partner according to plan. Genetic bank was established in 2013 however a long process of identification of animals suitable for breeding remains a challenge. Moreover a number of trainings were organized and additional equipment for trainings and work in the laboratory were delivered.
