Keeping domestic animals creates the main income for more than 80 % of the farmers in Cambodia. High mortality of poultry, pigs and other domestic animals however remains the obstacle in growing the potential of this sector. The main reason for this is lack of knowledge in effective breeding practices, lacking access to good standard veterinary services and other assets (material, equipment) and/or limited access to required capital.

Project intends to improve the quality, access and demand of private and community veterinary and marketing services. As a result the animal production of local farmers will increase in quality and scale and therefore their income increases alongside. It is expected that 31 500 farmers will directly benefit from better access to animal health and production services.
