The project focuses on the inclusion of children from disadvantaged communities into the educational system in Kosovo, especially targeting Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian (RAE) communities, due to the high percentage of children out of the educational system. Within the project the education of children will be supported through the Fushe Kosova and Istog learning centers in order to increase their chances to enrol and complete primary school. Concurrently mediators will support the inclusion of children into schools in 10 localities through mediation between schools, communities and local authorities. In the target communities prejudice towards other groups will be diminished and discrimination in schools tackled. In addition in 10 localities working grous will be initiated working towards the implementation of the Strategy for the Integration of Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian Communities in Kosovo 2007 - 2017 at local level.

This project won the Honorary Award for Social Integration of the ERSTE Foundation. For more information click here.
