The project aims at contributing to the increase of income of small scale dairy cattle breeders in Zambia´s Southern Province. By means of guaranteeing sustainable and stable fodder production for dairy cattle on small scale farms in the target areas of Choma and Monze, the annual decrease in milk production in the dry season will be diminished.
The project was launched at the end of 2014. Initial activities focused mainly on the identification of target farms and on discussing the possibility of cooperative production of forage.
